Local Delivery Area
Delivery within 15km of our store is $10 (Generally Cobourg & Port Hope). Delivery in surrounding areas (Camborne, Baltimore, Cold Springs, Grafton, Welcome) is $12, further east, west & north (Plainville, Gores Landing, Colborne, Castleton, Centreton, Vernonville, Fenella, Roseneath, Bewdley, Campbellcroft, Garden Hill) is $15. If you are not sure whether your recipient delivery address is within our local delivery area give us a call us to inquire - we would hate to have delivery of your gift basket delayed due to insufficient shipping charges.
Deliveries Outside of the Local Area
We can deliver just about anywhere in Canada. Unfortunately, due to customs restrictions on Canadian dairy/food products, Best Wishes in a Basket is unable to ship our gift baskets to the United States or to over-seas destinations. We will gladly ship your order to any Canadian destination. Please call for shipping/delivery rates outside our local area. Shipping charges vary based on size, weight and destination.
Delivery Fees & Taxes
Applicable taxes are added to all shipping charges. All delivery and shipping fees listed on this site (including alcohol delivery) are base rates and are subject to extra charges based on destination, overweight sizes, multiple deliveries to one address, wrong addresses provided or if there are deliveries to more than 1 address. Shipping and/or delivery charges are non-refundable.
If No-One is Home for the Delivery
For Local Deliveries - If no one is at home when our drivers attempt delivery, our drivers will call the gift recipient to see where they can safely leave the gift basket. If the driver cannot reach the gift recipient, they will leave a message (if possible) and the driver will leave the package at a safe place without obtaining a signature. If the gift cannot be left safely and no one can accept the delivery, re-delivery will be necessary. A re-delivery charge may be required at an additional charge (typically $15-$40). We will try to avoid the re-delivery but will not leave a gift in an unsafe place. We will arrange the re-delivery at the earliest possible time - often later in the day or the next day. The re-delivery charge will be charged to your VISA or Mastercard. If you have paid for your order by another online method, we will not do the re-delivery until we have received the re-delivery fees.
For Deliveries Outside of the Local Delivery Area - For shipments by common carrier, the courier will not attempt to contact the gift recipient if no one is at home when the gift arrives. Common carriers never call gift recipients. Instead they will leave the package at the front door if they feel it is safe to do so. If they do not feel it is safe to leave it at the front door, they will leave a notice indicating where the gift can be picked up by the gift recipient (e.g. at the post office or a Drop Box). If the package is not picked up in the following 10 days, it will be returned to BWB. Redelivery may be attempted . A re-delivery charge may be required at an additional charge (typically $15-$40).

Shipping Fresh Gift Baskets
FRESH FRUIT, CAKES & BAKED GOODS, FLOWERS, FRESH CHEESE, SOME CHOCOLATE & OTHER PERISHABLES, must be shipped quickly.
For this reason our Fruit Baskets are only shipped in our local area. During the hot summer months - June to August generally - we will ship all perishables (cheese, chocolate, etc.) on a rush basis or substitute non-perishables in the basket. If rush service is used the shipping costs to the customer will be higher, however we cannot refund customers for items that have melted or the items are received in less than perfect condition unless rush service has been used. .
Overweight, Oversized Deliveries
In some cases, some of the items that we ship are oversized or of a weight that is above average. In these cases, additional delivery charges may apply. However, before we apply these additional shipping charges, we will contact you, our customer, to ensure that you are willing to pay the additional shipping charges. If you agree to the overweight/oversized charges, we will apply the charges and ship the package. If you do not agree to the additional shipping charges, we may offer other items which can be shipped or cancel the order.
